Soundcloud fake fame and stardom

I was wondering how best to promote, or widen the audience that could discover new music, particularly mine and my co-conspirators!.

I did the essential google search, and stumbled across this.  What do YOU think about it? Im not impressed Soundcloud dont seem to tackle it.
